It’s been busier than I expected, that’s for sure. Did a heap of washing, cooking and washing up Saturday morning, before an unexpected get together Saturday afternoon with and Helen, which was all kinds of great, and ticks the boxes of productivity AND social 🙂 Stayed up late to finish some proofing for Alisa so she could pick it up on her way home this afternoon. This morning was filing (it grows, I’m sure of it!) and more washing (seriously, how do we use MORE clothes in summertime?!) and all that, before I took the baby and went SHOPPING! Needed to do a big grocery shop, but made the most of hubby being home with the big kids to have a good go through Target and Kmart and so on, picking up bits and pieces of Chrissy pressies. Hubby has his birthday three days before Christmas, and he’s actually done quite well this year too! Now I just need to send him off with the kids in the next day or two to get ME a birthday present! 🙂 Baby and I spent a very enjoyable few hours wandering around the shops – he really enjoyed it, by all appearances!
Alisa dropped by briefly to deliver Fables returns and pick up the proof, and then it was time for dinner and a swim. Hmmm. Doesn’t seem like I’ve actually done all that much, but it really did feel busy!
Well, starting with my Friday? I was a bit down yesterday, but as I suspected, felt much better today, even after a little bit of wine last night 🙂
Had a teensy lay in this morning, despite the best efforts of the children. Got up and found emails from girliejones discussing a catch up today, and was pleased to be able to plan a trip up to Perth, particularly to Planet! Picked up a bunch of books and graphic novels (on sale! Thanks angriest for the heads up!) for school and a couple for me. I may also read many of the ones I purchased for school…
We meet J there, and meandered up to a nearby coffee cafe where the children (particularly Miss 3 who has been under pressure with her toileting) proceeded to use the loo about 14 times in two hours. *sigh* The conversation I DID manage to participate in was lovely and collegial. Very enjoyable, despite the best effort of the children… 🙂
Came home, ignored the mess, and relaxed. Just discover UNO on Facebook, but am now going back to work. Promise GJ!
Apparently WA starts daylight savings again tomorrow.
I knew nothing of this until hubby saw it on the news but this government website confirms it. Weird. Good thing we saw that as we have to be at junior cricket to sign up at 8.30 am tomorrow!
Now that we won’t be moving in a very short time, I think my body has just decided to have a little rest. I have been so tired this weekend, have had two late afternoon lay downs (I tried to nap, but absolutely could not shut down) and have procrastinated my way through a day and a half of kids-free weekend. That’s not to say I didn’t get anything done. The washing is complete, the floors are clean, the dishes are handwashed (thanks to the two-month old dishwasher that has stopped working) and the house is tidy. The desk, however, is not. And that’s where the procrastinating is apparent. My main goals this weekend were to hook into my next uni assignment, and get the tax at least STARTED. Neither has been achieved. I am going right now to work on the assignment. The tax is being ignored again. My desk looks disgusting, there is paperwork everywhere, but you know what? I’m cool with that. I am tired, I’ve had a very stressful (mostly in a good way, but it’s tiring nonetheless) two weeks, and I’m enjoying being a bit restful (which has included reading two more books from my AA judging pile – only two left! Well, til the remaining nominations arrive at least). I refuse to feel guilty. And I may even watch a bit of telly. Although I will be ironing while I do that, but still…
