Lovely Sunday

Ah, Sunday, how I miss thee… It was a really nice day. I’m glad I made the start time 11am as it gave me a little sleep in (despite the best efforts of the kiddies), and meant the kitchen still got tidy too ๐Ÿ™‚

and the dog (who is just GORGEOUS, despite a disconcerting habit of bolting out open front doors!) arrived first, followed quickly by some work friends (one with four small daughters in tow, which Miss 3 just LOVED), and   on the shiny bike. Later arrivals   (and youngest progeny, making Master 6 most happy) and  , combined with lots of coffee, tea, junk food and great conversation made for a wonderful day. I LOVE living here!

Did I get rid of many books? Well, I guess so. Maybe two or three boxes. Another boxful this afternoon to another work mate (who came with his very cute one year old, delighting Miss 3 once again). In the end I didn’t care too much, cos I had such a nice time ๐Ÿ™‚ Might still foist some more off on unsuspecting work mates, but I think then that the Salvos or Vinnies might do well out of me. If I can be bothered, a friend at work told me about a good secondhand bookstore nearby, where I might try my luck on some of the newer titles… We’ll see.

Was fun, regardless, and it has forced a sort out of the books. How I’m going to update LT I have no idea!

Did we try and sell some of the newer ones (old review/judge copies) at Swancon?

I’m sorry I didn’t get down there – I -really- wanted to, but didn’t have the coping ๐Ÿ˜ฆ (for your gathering or the others I had invites too) *hugs*

    three suggestions
    1) I took a couple of boxes to work and wrote “free” on the boxes and put them in the staffroom. They were gone in an hour
    2) are any of them suitable to add to your library’s collection?
    3) in the UK they hold onto SF/F books to give out to people in what they call the “outreach” program where they give them to people to promote upcoming SF conventions. As in “are you interested in SF? Have a free book and a flyer” Works great at events like Supernova etc. Of course, you’d have to find someone to store them
