If you’re going about your nominations for the Ditmars, there’s loads of worthy stuff out there – as I previously suggested, last year’s nomination list for the Aurealis Awards helps in many ways, but if you’re finding that a little dense, here’s some things I’ve been involved in that you might like to consider (if you’ve seen them!):
Best Novella/Novelette
Thoraiya Dyer’s story, "Night Heron’s Curse" from ASIM #37 falls into this category – it was also shortlisted for the Fantasy Short Story category at the Aurealis Awards.
I also worked on Dirk Flinthart’s Angel Rising novella (set on New Ceres), published by Twelfth Planet Press.
Best Collected Work:
ASIM #37 – I’m very very proud of my final issue of ASIM – it had two stories shortlisted in the Aurealis Awards, and I enjoyed working on it very much.
Other great collections last year were The Starry Rift (edited by Jonathan Strahan), 2012 (edited by Alisa Krasnostein and Ben Payne) and Canterbury 2100 (edited by Dirk Flinthart).
Best Fan Publication in any medium:
I’m eligible in this category this year for the Ditmars Voting Package Alisa and I pulled together in 2008.
William Atheling Jr Award for Criticism or Review
I did bucketloads of reviews this year, but the one I’m most proud of is the conversational review Alisa, Tansy, Sue, Liz, Kate and I did of the Twilight series (which we just won a Tin Duck for!) – it’s up on ASif!.
Best Short Story:
ASIM #37 had a some excellent works by Australia authors. Dirk Flinthart’s "This is not my story" made the YA shortlist of the Aurealis Awards, but the others are:
This Is Not My Story . . . . . Dirk Flinthart
Love the Tattoo . . . . . . Leith Daniel
Amygdala My Love . . . . . Lee Battersby
Map . . . . . . . Adam Bales
Rick Gets a Job . . . . . Jason Fischer
Terraformer . . . . . . David Conyers
Failed Experiments from the Frontier: The Pumpkin . . . Paul Haines
In ASIM #36 the Aussies were:
Piper . . . Cat Sparks
A Drowning . . . Aimee Smith
Too Hot . . . Janeen Samuel
Hmmmm. It WAS a busy year! Full details about the awards HERE. And the full list of categories is:

Hopefully there’ll be some more posts floating about real soon with more eligible works!
Your post seems to be causing some flist damage, T.
What do you mean?
I mean that all the entries after yours on my friends list are mangled – I think you’re missing a close tag in your html or something.
Um, I’m sorry. But I don’t know how to make it better, cos I don’t use the html tab – dunno how. It’s just the same way as I always post, no html involved 😦
I’ll cope. The problem will go away of its own accord before too long. 🙂
*Cough* http://nyssa-p.livejournal.com/121265.html 😛 Mine is very…errr…subtle….! XD
Although you have given me some ideas about other categories…Collected work: 2012 was AWESOME!
Heh. This is just what *I* was involved in personally. I also nominated a bunch of other stuff, but I’m not going to say what it is because it’s up to everyone to decide what they nominate!
Although I wasn’t exactly involved in The Starry Rift. Heh. I just loved it a lot 🙂
True 😛 But it’s nice to see how much everyone does, because I’m a bit of a noob and only know a bit. Like I didn’t know you had worked on Angel Rising!
I think sometimes this industry is just full of wonderwomen.
