Ditmars

We were advised at Swancon that the Ditmar nomination period is now open. For information on categories this year, head to http://wiki.sf.org.au/Ditmar_rules

Basic breakdown is:

2.1 Professional Categories: Best Novel; Best Novella or Novelette; Best Short Story; Best Collected Work; Best Artwork.
2.2 Fan Categories: Best Fan Writer; Best Fan Artist; Best Fan Publication in any Medium.
2.3 Special Award for works not eligible in existing categories: Best Achievement; William Atheling Jr Award for Criticism or Review; Best New Talent.

However, there are some changes about eligibility and details for some categories, so make sure you read all the info first 🙂

You should nominate any work you think worthy of being recognised. I recommend checking out the Nominated Works page of the Aurealis Awards website (while it’s still got LAST YEAR’S works up) for some refreshers on what is eligible in novels, short stories, anthologies, and maybe even some other areas, but keep in mind that not ALL eligible works are nominated for the AAs.

I have no doubt that bloggers will compile lists of eligible works in different areas as well.

ANYONE who is a natural person active in fandom, or was a full or supporting members of the national convention of the year of the award can nominate, and you can nominate as many works as you like.

Nominations close early May. Send nominations to: ditmars@conjecture2009.org
