Looking to the year ahead…and back

It’s a lot closer to 2008 in the eastern states than it is here (and a lot further away for you folks in far away places!) but for me, who is about to go to bed, it’s time to reflect.

2007 was one heck of a busy year. In numbers…
Two moves,
two different states,
three jobs,
one pregnancy/miscarriage,
two issues of ASIM,
three ASIM Best Of anthologies,
one Natcon,
one new nephew,
two best friends with new babies,
30-odd books for Aurealis Awards judging,
15 U.N.E. peer supportees,
lots of new reviews,
one child’s broken arm,
two busy kids, and
a ADHD husband in transit!!! (just sometimes it seems that way 🙂 )
There is more, I’m sure, but I’m a bit weary for thinking.

I don’t really have any resolutions, but I have some aims this year.
I have already made headway into losing some damn weight, and intend to continue that.
I aim to do the best possible job I can in my new work role.
I intend to keep in touch, by phone, email and letters, with friends and family around the country.
I will NOT study this year, no matter how much I want to.
I will keep up with my reviewing commitments, and edit at least one issue of ASIM.
I also plan to submit a story or two around the traps.
And I WILL make a commitment to saving more money.

So that’s it. It’s written down. Wonder what will have happened by this time NEXT year?
